Monthly Presentation: Night Skies by Jerry Persall
–
May 9, 2024
Jerry shares some eureka moments, lessons learned, and personal musings he has experienced in the nearly fifty years he has observed the night sky in Maryland, Colorado, and many places around the world. He has taught astronomy, owned a dozen telescopes, and built a private observatory. He talks about how he became an amateur astronomer and shows what amateur astronomers see when they look through their telescopes. He hopes you will be edutained, pick up some food for deep thought and, perhaps, come away with some new ways of seeing things, particularly a significantly expanded perspective of the universe and our place in it.
The presentation begins at 7:00pm at the Philip S. Miller Library 100 S. Wilcox St. Castle Rock, CO 80104. For more information check out our website at www.castlerockhistoricalsociety.org or contact the Castle Rock Museum at 303-814-3164 or museum@castlerockhistoricalsociety.org.
